To celebrate Pride, out Hollywood actor Luke Evans shares pics of himself and his hunky boyfriend Rafa Olarra.

He also shared a heartfelt message about Pride:

"Always try and be the best, most authentic version of yourself. Hold that person tight. Smile, breath deep, stand tall and be proud!!!"

"Rafa is Miami based and is the art director at Faena — a chain of luxury hotels with locations in Miami Beach & Buenos Aires," reports The Daily Mail. An Argentinian native, he studied in Madrid before coming to America.

"It's not clear how or when the men met, but Rafa appeared in a snap on Instagram with Luke last October," writes the Daily Mail.

Rafa shared pics of Evans in his Instagram feed as well:

It was a surprising move by Evans, who is known to be a very private person and since becoming a Hollywood star, pushed back on discussing his sexuality publicly. He explained in an interview for The Jackal in 2017: "I try to keep my personal life and my private life separate. Not for any reason other than there's a clue in the title —it's private. As an actor you have to keep some sort of enigma and mystery. There's a dignity to keeping private. I'm trying to keep a bit of dignity to my private life and to protect the people in my life."

He wasn't always that private. When he was appearing in musicals in the West End in the early 2000s, he was out. "(E)verybody knew me as a gay man, and in my life in London I never tried to hide....," he told the Advocate in 2002.

But when he became a Hollywood star, in films such as "The Girl on the Train," "Beauty and the Beast," and two franchises — "The Hobbit" and "Fast and the Furious" — he appeared to be more guarded about his sexuality, perhaps due to his handlers. When a Woman's Wear Daily reporter interviewed him in 2014, he was told by a publicist, "It's not something he is hiding, but not a fact he wishes to discuss in the press."

In the interview, though, Evans had no problems discussing his sexuality and his career. "But when it was suggested that in taking on these action roles, he may be setting a precedent, Evans didn't entirely sidestep the question.

"It's good for people to look at me and think this guy is doing his thing and enjoying what he's doing and successful at it and living his life," he says. "And that's what I'm doing and I'm very happy."
