After Accusing Photographer Bruce Weber of Sexual Harassment, Model Thanks Supporters

Thursday Dec 7, 2017

The male model who accused renowned fashion photographer Bruce Weber of sexual harassment took to Instagram Wednesday to thank those who have showed support for him.

"Thank you so much, to everybody that has reached out to me these last few days," Jason Boyce wrote. "Your support means more than you can know."

He goes on to say he filed the lawsuit "to give myself and young men everywhere a voice on sexual assault."

"We need to follow the lead of these courageous women that have set the example of bravery," Boyce goes on to say. "Sexual harassment and assault takes away the victims power and voice, especially with men.

"No longer. We as men need to acknowledge that it does happen to us," he continued. "But also that it does not mean we are weak, but rather that we are strong in telling our stories."

Boyce adds that sexual harassment should not occur in the fashion world "or any other workplace."

The model captioned the note with the hashtags #metoo, #mentoo and #speakup.

Boyce made headlines earlier this week after filing a suit against Weber, saying he suffered from being sexually harassed and discriminated against because of his gender.

"Boyce was the victim of 'casting couch' practices by the defendants, upon information and belief, are prevalent in the modeling industry, and suffered humiliation, emotional anguish and lost economic opportunities, including the end of his modeling career in New York," the complaint reads.

The complaint alleges Weber grabbed Boyce and kissed him on the lips. It also claims "Weber put his fingers in Mr. Boyce's mouth. Shocked, Mr. Boyce opened his eyes. Mr. Weber told him to keep his eyes closed, and kept his fingers in Mr. Boyce's mouth. 'If you just had confidence, you'd go really far,' Mr. Weber whispered. 'How far do you want to make it? How ambitious are you?' Mr. Boyce did not respond."

The incident allegedly occurred in December 2014.
