BOSTON - Bon Me, known around Boston for their blue and yellow food trucks, have secured the space for their first brick and mortar restaurant at One Kendall Square in Cambridge. Plans are in the works for the restaurant to open in mid-January, with construction on the space already underway.

The new fast-causal restaurant will feature the same bold, fresh, and fun Vietnamese menu items from the food truck -- such as the famous "Bon Me Sandwich," noodle salads, and rice bowls -- as well as new items unique to just the restaurant. Price points of the restaurant menu will be similar to those currently in operation on the two Bon Me Trucks, which will continue vending after the restaurant opens.

The restaurant space, coming in at around 1000 square feet, will feature a simple yet elegant Asian inspired design with elements also coming from Bon Me's two food trucks.

Bon Me owners and husband-and-wife duo Patrick Lynch and Alison Fong are excited for their business to expand into the Cambridge area. Lynch, a Harvard University and MIT alumnus, is thrilled to be opening up a restaurant in a location that holds so much history for him.

"Ali and I are both Cambridge residents, and we've really grown attached to the area," says Lynch. "Boston has been great to our food trucks, and we can't wait to be start sharing our food on this side of the river."

With the restaurant opening nearing quickly, Bon Me is currently looking for individuals with culinary pizzazz and a passion for food to help join them on this exciting endeavor into the brick and mortar business.

"Our employees have been a large driving force behind the success of our food trucks," says Fong. "With our business growing, it'll be great to see what other awesome people are ready to help us continue on this exciting journey."

Bon Me also invites local area bloggers to join them on their restaurant opening journey. They will be hosting an exclusive blogger event prior to the official opening in January 2013. More details about this event will be released in the upcoming weeks.

Bon Me is inventive Vietnamese food small business dedicated to serving the city of Boston and beyond with bold, fresh, and fun food. Founded in 2010 and winners of the City of Boston's Food Truck Challenge, Bon Me is run by husband-and-wife duo Patrick Lynch and Alison Fong.
