READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Pop newcomer MEEK has officially entered the music industry with the release of "Fabulous," her debut single, marking a significant milestone in her career as a newly signed artist to BMG.
The single arrived on January 30, 2026, as part of a three-track EP that also includes "Brixton" and "I Want Love, But Not That Much." "Fabulous" explores themes of heartbreak, self-presentation, and recovery while drawing on British humor and references to queer nightlife culture.
The song's lyrics reflect resilience in the face of adversity, with MEEK singing about maintaining confidence and self-care despite life's challenges. Lines such as "I just got my heart broken but I look fucking fabulous" and "Yeah I'm back in therapy but I look fuckin fabulous" anchor the track's central message of finding strength through self-affirmation.
Before its official release, MEEK previewed "Fabulous" publicly at Ku Bar, a long-running LGBTQ+ venue located in Soho, London. The response was enthusiastically received, with MEEK describing the moment: "It was the funniest thing ever. I jumped up on the bar and started lip-syncing along… I did half of the first intro and then everyone – literally everyone in the bar – was screaming, 'I'm so fucking fabulous.'"
The accompanying music video for "Fabulous" was filmed in Blackpool and directed by Sophie Muller, a filmmaker whose extensive portfolio includes work with prominent artists including Beyoncé, Kylie Minogue, Sade, Annie Lennox, Gwen Stefani, Blur, and Maroon 5. The video follows MEEK through the seaside town, alternating between performance sequences and street-level scenes that capture the energy and spirit of the single.
MEEK is described as a self-made artist whose work is informed by working-class experience and personal trauma. She has explicitly stated that her music is intended to resonate with outsiders and marginalized audiences, including LGBTQ+ listeners, centering their experiences and perspectives in her artistic vision.
The production of "Fabulous" involved collaboration with David Pramik, who served as producer, recording engineer, and multi-instrumentalist, alongside mixing engineer Greg Wells and mastering engineer Randy Meryl. MEEK co-wrote the track with Pramik and Caroline Baker, who also contributed background vocals.
To support the EP release, MEEK performed at a live event scheduled for January 31, 2026, at 4:45 p.m. outside The O2 Arena, where she performed alongside DJ AG.
