'Drag Race' Stars Featured in Starbucks's 1st LGBT-Friendly Ad

Two of the biggest stars of the hit reality show "RuPaul's Drag Race" are the stars of a new Starbucks ad that's being billed as the inclusive coffee company's first LGBT-friendly ad, the Advocate reports.

"Drag Race" Season Six winner Bianca Del Rio and the season's runner-up, Adore Delano, serve up Starbucks realness when they get into a hilarious heated argument after one of the fierce ladies skips the line to get their skinny latte. But it's Starbucks that saves the day!

According to the Nola.com, the ad was co-produced with OUTtv, an LGBT Canadian cable channel.

Starbucks has long been a supporter of the LGBT community. Based in Washington state, the coffee giant supported the repeal of the state's then-ban on same-sex marriage. This summer, Starbucks celebrated Seattle Pride's 40th anniversary by raising a huge 800-square-foot rainbow flag over its headquarters.

"We are thrilled that Starbucks is showing their support for the LGBT community in this very big, very public way," Adam McRoberts, Communications Director for Seattle Pride, said. "The flag flying over their headquarters will welcome thousands of visitors coming to Seattle to celebrate Pride this week and is a testament to the support Starbucks has shown the LGBT community over the years."

The response to the ad has been positive, with fans commenting on how funny the queens are -- one YouTube user even said: "i [sic] might start to go to Starbucks because of this."

But one Facebook user took issue with the ad, commenting on the Advocate's story:

WHYYYYYY MUST IT START OFF WITH DRAG QUEENS? Look, I have NOTHING against ENTERTAINERS, BUT...How about normal everyday gay people getting together for a date, or something like that? The gay community gets tired of the stereotypes forced down everyone's throat. "Visibility at all costs" is bullshit. For those that are about to jump down my throat for being "anti trans," the point is: if you FIRST use drag queens as the "representative" of the LGBT community, the message is ALWAYS received as "all gay men CRAVE to be drag queens," which is simply untrue. Yes, *SOME* of them are "entertaining", but I don't WANT a dose of bitchiness with my latte, I just want my damn coffee, thank you. Poor choice, Starbucks. You may have LOST MANY customers. This is NOT a non-issue. We can thank Logo for this, who by the way, should be broadcasting shows about the mid-term elections, which will affect the gay community in a profound way...instead of JUST re-running shows that no one watches anymore.........Logo is run by straight people, anyway....

But leave it to Bianca Del Rio to shoot off a perfect response: "FUCKING IDIOT. #sheneedsjesus"
