Caitlyn Jenner Expresses Interest In Entering California Governor Race

Axios is reporting that, ex-reality television star Caitlyn Jenner is "actively exploring" her prospects as a candidate for governor in California's recall election.

In a scoop from Axios' Jonathan Swan, Jenner reportedly sought out a variety of political consultants to evaluate her potential chances, with the process being led by G.O.P campaign finance specialist Caroline Wren.

Wren reportedly met Jenner following her time with the American Unity Fund, a Republican nonprofit primarily focussing on the LGBTQ community.

Notably, Wren is a former member of various Trump campaign organizations, having served as a member of fundraising venture Trump Victory, as well as helping to organize the former President's rally that preceded January's Capitol insurrection.

Jenner, a public Trump supporter famous for her relationship with the Kardashians, could bring even more attention to an already heated Gubernatorial recall in California.

The recall, backed by Republicans unhappy with Governor Gavin Newsom's tax and immigration policies, has picked up steam in recent months due to additional backlash for his handling of the ongoing pandemic.

Previously, though, Jenner's manager Sophie Hutchins has rebuffed any chances of a foray into politics for the former Olympic gold medalist.

"[Caitlyn] has never considered running for governor and is very happy doing the work that she is doing to promote LGBT rights and spending time with her 18 grandchildren and 10 children", Hutchins said in February.

As of Tuesday evening, Wren and Jenner's management have declined requests for comment.
