Fresh off her starring role in "Joker: Folie à Deux," and an associated thirteen-track album, "Harlequin," that was a mix of jazz standards and original songs, Lady Gaga is about to release a single, titled "Disease," from an all-new studio album that's due out next year.

The new single is set to drop this coming Friday, October 25, Variety reported. "Though the pop star is yet to make an official announcement," the Variety writeup said, "her parent label Universal Music posted pre-saves for 'Disease' on a pop-up site, linking to Spotify and Apple Music."

The report went on to add that Mother Monster's eagle-eyed fans had already figured out the name of the new song "after noticing that the capitalization of letters for some of her songs on streaming had changed from upper to lower and vice versa, and when rearranged, the first letters of seven songs spelled 'Disease.'"

Variety said that "Gaga herself had previously hinted at an October release date for the first single off her seventh album" in a post that teased, "XX October: LG7 first single," a reference to her seventh studio album, which is expected this coming February.

Of the "Joker"-related album, which dropped Sept. 27, Variety recalled, "The project consisted of nearly all classic American Songbook favorites like 'Get Happy,' 'That's Life' and 'That's Entertainment,' with the exception of a pair of originals."

"It called back to the two albums she did with the late Tony Bennett," Variety noted, "the Grammy-nominated 'Cheek to Cheek' and 'Love for Sale.'"
