Unwrapping the Year, Pornhub Reveals Top Talent, Search Terms

Pornhub unveiled its year-end stats to reveal the most popular search terms, users' favorite adult star and content creators, and more.
Securing spots at the top of the rankings were the search term "twink," the category "Lesbian," and gay porn fave Malik Delgaty, Australian newspaper the Star Observer noted, before clocking "a rise in the popularity of transgender performers, with the most viewed creators, PuppyGirlXO, Emma Rose, and Daniela Chanel all racking up tens of millions of views each."
Taking note of generational trends, Mashable noted that "Boomers were 36 percent more likely than younger generations to view strap-on porn this year, and 32 percent more likely to view gangbangs." Unlike last year, however, "Trans porn didn't make the cut" for boomers, who had shown a thirst for that category before.
The roundup made a distinction between "porn stars" and "amateur models." The latter category featured several hot guys, including Scott Stark and Gattouz0 (who came in fourth and fifth on the mixed-gender list, respectively).
Among other results of the site's analytics were the upward trend of search terms like "cure femboy," "furry," and "straight guys first time," the Star Observer detailed, while Mashable pointed to how social media-driven buzzwords like "demure" and "tradwife" made an impact in search term popularity on the site.
"Interest in Mormon content specifically had a big increase this year," Mashable added. "'Mormon sex' searches grew 92 percent, 'Mormon wife' 71 percent, and 'Mormon threesome' 122 percent."
That wasn't the only example of trends in the wider culture seeping into Pornhub's metrics. "The 2024 Paris Olympics inspired searches like 'sex olympics,' 'nude olympics,' and simply 'athlete,'" Mashable detailed. "Plus, France had the #2 spot in Pornhub traffic this year – maybe from all the visitors?"
Other top search terms included "anime," "pinoy," "hentai," "asian," and "massage," reports said.
Because of the results of the recent presidential election, there's some trepidation in the adult entertainment industry as to whether porn will remain a legal form of free speech in the United States after inauguration day, Mashable observed. A conservative blueprint for a radical reshaping of the government – and society – known as Project 2025 recommends banning porn and labeling anyone who makes it available a "sex offender." (By "porn," that document seemingly includes trans people talking about their lives and identities. It remains to be seen whether a full-scale Russia-like ban on "gay propaganda," a.k.a. public acknowledgement of gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals and their committed relationships, would also result.)
Even in advance of any implementation of Project 2025, a number of "U.S. states have already imposed age-verification laws, requiring ID for websites where over a third of the content hosted is explicit, thus making porn harder to access," Mashable noted. "Pornhub has responded by blocking itself from these states including Texas, Indiana, and Kentucky."
"Because of this, the map of the most popular searches in each state looks a bit different this year," with "states where Pornhub is banned [being] grayed out..."
Such gaps in the available data didn't dampen the steam coming off the yearly report. Despite the puritanical leanings suggested by the election, the United States led the rest of the world by far in terms of traffic to the site. The #2 country on the Top 20 list – France, as noted above – only registered about a third of the traffic to the site that America mustered.
However, Americans lagged behind Mexico and the Netherlands in terms of how much time users spent on the site. Mashable relayed that "Pornhub notes that the average time spent overall has dropped 29 seconds this year. Young adults are driving this increase: 18-24-year-olds spent less than 76 seconds on the site compared to the average. Either they're getting their kicks too soon, or going elsewhere."
Pornhub's analytics went deep as well as wide, and even genre fanboys (and girls) got a nod for their interests.
"Surprisingly, 'Star Trek' appeared in the most searched franchises this year," the Star Observer relayed, "which is incredible given that it literally led to the birth of fanfiction, which everyone knows, can be really horny."
"Nice to see people are still making Spock and Kirk get it on after 60-odd years."
