Out Volleyball Champ Tim Brewster Celebrates Victory on Instagram
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Earlier this year, EDGE reported that out volleyball champ Tim Brewster had found love on the court with teammate Kyle Friend and solidified their relationship while on a tour of Australia.
Recently, Outsports reports, Brewster just won a championship he hadn't won before. And he took to social media to celebrate with a pic of his teammates.
"Awesome way to close out the season with my first world tour medal! Pretty special that it came in the US in front of family and friends!" he wrote on the post.
"Had an absolute blast playing with @loganmichaelwebber this weekend! He's a stud and was a wall up there at the net🙌
"A big thanks to @usavolleyball @floridaregion for hosting this event and bringing international beach back to the states 🇺🇸
"Off season is here babyyyy 🙏"
"The title for the AVP player came at a tournament in Pompano Beach, Fla.," Outsports writes. "While some organizations have proclaimed Florida off-limits for LGBTQ people, Brewster seemed to have no issue being out and competing in the state."
And he confirmed to Outsports that he remains in his relationship with Friend, a UCLA graduate who represented Team USA at the 2018 Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires and was studying law at Loyola in his home city of Los Angeles while playing pro.
"We had those boundaries," he added. "I think we know how to keep the two separate to a point, although obviously it's impossible to keep them completely separate."
