'Insecure' Star Developing HBO Comedy About a Bisexual Black Man
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
HBO approved two new series from "Insecure" star and co-creator Issa Rae, including a comedy about a bisexual black man, Deadline reports.
"Him Or Her," co-produced with former "Daily Show" writer and Emmy winner Travon Free, will be a single-camera half-hour comedy that follows the dating life of a bisexual black man "and the distinctly different worlds and relationships he finds himself in," Deadline writes.
HBO also green lit "Sweet Life," set in the Black Beverly Hills of Windsor Hills. The show "is a coming of age tale of the well-heeled teens growing up in the L.A. neighborhood." "Sweet Life" was co-created by Rae and "Scandal" producer Raamla Mohamed, who will both write the one-hour drama.
On top of that, Rae will be busy on the third season of "Insecure," which is set to air in 2018.
Rae picked up a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an actress in a Comedy TV Series for her starring role in "Insecure." She was nominated for the same award last year.
